HarmonyOS for Huawei phones will be released in April 2021

On February 22, 2021, Huawei officially announced that its HarmonyOS home operating system for smartphones would be launched in April of this year. The newest foldable phone, Mate X2, will be part of the first series that HarmonyOS will get through an update from OTA software.

HarmonyOS 2.0 was introduced at the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 and supports new device platforms, including smartwatches, smart home devices, automotive systems and smartphones. According to the information, Huawei will launch a new smartphone with the HarmonyOS software pre-installed.

Last December, Huawei launched the mobile beta version of HarmonyOS 2.0 as a test platform for programmers and to get an early insight into the development of ecosystems. Initially, the devices Huawei P40, Mate 30 and MatePad Pro are guaranteed a place in the beta program, which is currently limited to the Chinese market.
