In January, Redmi confirmed that the Redmi K40 series will hit the market in February. Today the company released official confirmation that the K40 kick-off event will take place on February 25th.

The standard model of the Redmi K40 may come with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset or a new Snapdragon 700 chipset. The K40 Pro is more likely to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset from the Redmi K40 smartphone box, which the company suggested last month that it could be shipped without a charger. The K40 models must also be supplied with stereo speakers.

The Chinese company announced last month that the Redmi K40 series would bring users the best display without curves, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and a battery of more than 4,000 mAh. The Redmi K40 Pro could hit the Chinese market with a starting price of 2,999 yuan (~ $ 464).

The Redmi K40 has the model number M2012K11AC and the Redmi K40 Pro has the model number M2012K11C. Both smartphones were recently certified by the Chinese 3C authority. The 3C certification indicated that these devices have support for 5G networks as well as support for 33W fast charging. The other specifications of the K40 models are not yet known.

At the launch event for the Redmi K40 series, the company will also introduce the RedmiBook Pro 15 with Intel’s 11th generation processors.
